Step By Step Tutorial

I'm writing this article for those as ignorant as I am about geeky stuff such as Javascript, HTML and the like.

1. You've signed up for Hubpages, and written your first Hubpage.

2. Next, you are guided to Hubpage's My Earnings Settings. There, you are further guided through the various processes of signing up for business links with Amazon, E-bay, Hubpages Earning Programme and Google Adsense and Adwords, all of which can help you start earning from your Hubpages.

3. DO NOT sign up for the Google Adsense or Adword programmes until you have published at least one or more Hubs with substantial, original content - i.e. more than 150 words in length.

4. After you publish the Hubs, DO NOT UNPUBLISH the Hubs for any reason except permanent withdrawal of the Hub from public viewing. If you make the mistake of hitting the UNPUBLISH button, Google's crawlers (bots) will be unable to read your page, and your Google Adsense and Adword applications will be barred for reason of 'insufficient content'

5. Once you get Google approval and your Adsense code. which is in Javascript, they will ask you to paste the script on each Hubpage after the closing header tag.

Copy the snippet and go to each one of your Hubpages.

6. Right-click anywhere on your Hubpage. This should bring up a menu. Click on the View Page Source option. The hidden Javascript menu will appear.

7. Press the Edit option. Scroll down till you see a script which says :

</head><body class="hubpage"><noscript>

<img src="http://b.scorecardresearch.com/p?c1=2&amp;c2=8331609&amp;cv=2.0&amp;cj=1&amp;c7=http%3A%2F%2Fhubpages.com%2Fhubtool%2Fcreate%2Fedit%2F2810198%3Fcomscorekw%3D" alt=""/>

</noscript><div id="header_wrap"><div id="header">

The closing header script is highlighted in bold above. Paste your script just after the > bracket. That's it - you are all done. Google's crawlers will now be signalled to visit your Hub and approve it.

Good luck!
